Hi, my name is Jessica.

I’m an English tutor, and in today’s lesson, we’re going to talk about English slang.

And the phrase for today’s lesson is, “pig out.”

So to pig out is a metaphor used to describe binge eating.

Binge eating is overeating and eating an amount that exceeds what would be normal and healthy.

So here are some examples of how you might use the phrase “pig out.”

“Today I went to an all-you-can-eat buffet and I pigged out on all of the food they had. I am so stuffed!”

You could also say: “Over the weekend, I pigged out on dessert. I ate an entire carton of ice cream and a dozen cookies.”

So, it is to say that you have binge eaten a very large amount of food.

So next time you hear someone say “pig out,” it means that they ate more than they probably should have.

I hope this lesson has been helpful for you and that you tune in again for more lessons with Jessica.
