How to pronounce ‘Iron’? Many students don’t know!
Check out this short video to learn how to pronounce ‘recipe’ correctly!
In this lesson, I’m going to help you pronounce the word “iron” correctly.
A lot of my students have made mistakes with this word.
A lot of students pronounce this like “I run” because of the “r”.
They say “run, I run.” But that’s wrong and it doesn’t sound very good.
So, the correct pronunciation is “I earn…I earn…I earn.”
It’s like saying, “I earn a lot of money,” or “I don’t earn a lot of money.”
“I earn $10 per job.” “I earn” – iron.
So, to help you remember “iron,” I’m going to iron my face.
So, this here is the cord. I’m going to remove the cord.
Okay, now I’m going to plug in the cord. Now I’m going to iron my face.
I’m ironing my face (seen in the video above). But of course we normally iron clothes.
Okay, so, and of course “iron” is not just about the machine. “Iron” also refers to the type of metal.
So I can say, “The weapons are made out of iron.” Or, “Iron is very expensive.”
Now if I want to talk about this machine I can say, “I need to go buy an iron.” And as a verb “I’m going to iron my shirts.”
I hope that you learned something new in this class and that now you pronounce the word “iron” correctly.
