How do you pronounce ‘bear’ and ‘beer’? What is the correct pronunciation?
Watch this video to learn how to pronounce ‘beer’ and ‘bear’ correctly!
The words “bear” and “beer” have a similar pronunciation and many English students don’t know the difference.
So, in this lesson, I’ll briefly explain how to say them correctly.
So, let’s get started:
A bear is a type of animal, such as a grizzly bear or a polar bear.
As you can see in the video, I use a teddy bear as an example.
The pronunciation is the same as the word “air” except it has the letter B at the beginning.
So simply make the B sound and add “air” to the end of it. It’s simple!
Now, beer is also pretty easy to say. It has the same sound as the words “ear” (body part) and “beard” (hair on your face).
So you can simply make the B sound and add “ear” to the end of it and you have pronounced “beer” correctly.
Or alternatively, you could say the word “beard” and not pronounce the letter D at the end.
I hope that his was helpful. Please watch the video to hear the sounds for yourself.
