In this lesson, I’m going to help you pronounce the word “debt” correctly. D-E- B-T.
You’d be surprised, but a lot of English students pronounce this word incorrectly.
They pronounce it like “debbt…debbth” because they’re pronouncing that “b” but the “b” is actually silent.
So we don’t pronounce the “b” at all. It’s simply “det…det.”
You can like forget about the “b” when you’re saying the word. Like “det…det.”
It’s really easy; it’s just that a lot of students just don’t know.
Here are a couple example sentences:
“The US government has a lot of debt.”
“I need to pay all my debt as soon as possible.”
So, you see it’s really easy, “det…det.”
Well I hope that this was helpful and that now you can pronounce “debt” correctly.
It’s actuallymuch easier pronouncing it this way “det.”
